Why Shouldn’t You Wash the Stroller Seat in a Washing Machine?
The stroller seat may get dirty, and it might seem logical to just toss it into the washing machine... but this is one of the most common mistakes that can damage both the fabric and the entire seat structure.
👉 WHAY?
Inside the seat are rigid support platesthat provide shape and support for your child’s sitting posture.
When spinning in the washing machine under the weight of water:
-
these plates can start to shift,,
-
may become misaligned or even break,,
-
and even worse the fabric can begin to chafe and tear,as the pressure and movement are no longer evenly distributed.
The result could be a sagging, unstable, and worn-out seat base, or torn fabric.
My Stroller Maintenance Tip:
- My current favorite method is to put a small drop of Vanish on a damp microfiber cloth.
- I gently rub the stains first and let it sit for a while.
- If needed, I rub the area again and then start “rinsing” with a clean, damp cloth until no more foam comes out.
